In 1999, Emeco began work with famed designer Philippe Starck to introduce contemporary reworkings of their traditional designs. The fruits of their labors are a collection of chairs that extend the original vision without destroying it. Defying time and trend, the Starck collections for Emeco will endure for generations. The aluminum used in these chairs is subjected to a proprietary thermal treatment, making them three times stronger than steel. The anodized surface approaches the hardness of a diamond, and the hand-brushed finish just gets better with age, which is just as well - this chair has a life expectancy of at least 150 years, and can be used indoors or out, in even the harshest environments.
