eames® sofa Designed by Charles and Ray Eames
Complementing many other seating lines developed over the years by Charles
and Ray Eames, this sofa’s angled profile and clean planes showcase a
harmonious combination of fine materials—rich walnut, soft leather,
polished aluminum. Back panels are fashioned from solid walnut, polished
smooth and hand-finished with gunstock oil. Foam-filled seat cushions,
resting on fabric-reinforced rubber webbing, give you resilient body
support. Both two- and three-seated versions are available. The design was
nearly complete when Charles Eames died in 1978; the Eames Office finished
the design, and Herman Miller began manufacturing this last Eames
furniture piece in 1984. Herman Miller leather with two-inch-thick, urethane-filled cushions; seat
cushion bottoms covered with 100 percent nylon fabric for ventilation;
back cushions backed by plywood. Frame and back are finished in either
teak or walnut veneer. Die-cast polished aluminum legs and arm supports
and nylon glides. Available in either a two-seat or three-seat version.
