Manufactured from the original drawings, molds and specifications. The armchair is found in design collections worldwide, including the Vitra Museum. The Cherner ArmchairŽ combines graceful curving bentwood arms and slender laminated legs with a one-piece molded plywood seat.

Like the 1958 original, the Cherner Armchair utilizes a molded plywood seat with a unique construction of laminated plywood of graduated thickness. This feature, plus the molding of compound curves, permits a structurally superior chair which is sculpted in form and ergonomically designed. The sweeping arms are constructed of solid beech which provides the chair with additional strength and beauty.

To compliment the classic walnut finish, Cherner now offers a natural finish on all walnut veneer chairs and stools. The molded beech core and walnut face veneer are brought into vivid contrast by applying only a simple clear finish.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the molded plywood Cherner Chair they now offer American Red Gum veneer sourced from sustainable forests in the lower Mississippi Valley.
